| About Zone X
 Ottawa, and the surrounding communities in the Ottawa Valley are designated as Zone X, and is one of 12 zones (geographical areas) that comprise the YBC 5 pin bowling program in Southern Ontario. At present, there are ten bowling centres in and around the Ottawa Valley offering a YBC program and are located in the following cities & towns:  Each week over 600 children, teens and coaches in Ottawa & the Valley participate in the YBC at their local bowling centre. All bowlers are given the opportunity to not only learn about the sport of 5 pin bowling, but to also have fun, receive weekly coaching and gain the opportunity to compete in tournaments ranging from local events up to the annual 4 Steps to Stardom national championships.
Each YBC program is run with the aid of countless numbers of volunteers who are dedicated to ensuring the YBC is a successful organization year after year. The zone is run by an executive team that meets four times per year with coaches and program directors from around the zone to discuss the direction the zone is headed in and to vote on various issues.
The respective YBC programs generally run from early-September until mid-April. To find out where to join a YBC program in your area, please click here.
